USDM hatch glass vs. Ep3 R hatch glass.

Is anybody but myself curious over the Euro and JDM CTR hatch glass versus our USDM hatch glass? Isn't anybody else curious about why they are different and what they would look like next to one another?

I had a picture of them side by side a few years ago, but the site crashed and all of the pictures disappeared. What I can remember: the JDM glass was more round and tinted darker than my stock tinted glass. The locking mechanism was different near the handle; I'm not sure if that had to do with the fact that it was 04 CTR hatch door versus my 02 stock hatch door, but you need to swap out the locks anyways. Also, the USDM glass was mounted higher than the JDM glass. Finally, there were 1 or 2 extra hole/indentation that appeared to be for clips to mount harnesses, possibly for the CTR wing brake light?

Sweet. It looks like the glass is actually cut out for the wing mounting points.

Yup and even some replicas include those areas and the notches to mount in and they require trimming and what not to fit.

Ours has the notches in the glass, too, but only along the top, not the sides, iirc:

One difference, aside from any in shape, is that the USDM has less of the black around the glass so the high-mount rear brake light is visible (it's inside the hatch because of the stupid looking factory spoiler).

Here is a picture of the EP1/2/4 european hatch with small spoiler. Seems to be the same as on the US EP3.

There was an option to buy at honda a Type R look spoiler that fitted the EP1/2/4 hatch without modifying it, should be also P&P to the US hatch. The problem now is to find that spoiler, it is probably discontinued... And if I remeber correctly the price was about 600 euros ( plus minus 800$).

    EDIT:

Here is a picture oh the accesory Type R wing for the non Type R hatch. Also, the part number for this is 08F02-S5S-610 and the price is around 500$ for a primed wing. Thank me later

Look's like you're talking about the USDM HFP wing that 75% of us use.

So if I were to buy a replica Mugen wing from overseas the mounting points on the outside have to be shaved off a bit right?

So the JDM glass is actually the same as the USDM except for the cut outs? Or am I missing something. I see no other difference.
