Swap Noise.... What does it sound like to you?

So... First off if you look at any of my previous threads you will see that my new K24A1 has been having different issues like cam rust (came off instantly when engine started moving) and from what it looked like when they dropped the engine off is that they left the intake mani open and condesation got to it. So when I poured the old oil out you can see all that water/oil mixture in the bucket. Changed the oil twice... Once with conventional... then Royal Purple Synthetic. But after starting the engine it started to make this weird noise... any one know what it could be? The engine runs GREAT! Seriously pulls a hell of a lot more that my stock A3 when it was working fine. Now... Check out my Vid:

Eeeeshh... Doesn't sound good man, but you already knew that. Did you pop off the valve cover off to take a look?

Yes... And everything looks normal... I'm telling you, the car drives STRONG... even my dad was surprised how this engine ran when I took him for a spin. The engine noise is getting better as the time goes by.

It almost sounds like an exhaust leak to me...Was the header gasket you used in good shape?
Does it change any when you rev the motor?
Might check to see if the balancer is wobbling also. I had a similar noise coming from the balancer in my accord when it went bad and was rubbing against the timing belt cover.
Piston slap? A compression test might help also.
    Just throwing ideas

Whats a balancer? And I don't think it would be a "Piston Slap" Car is running great, but the Balancer is something I would love to look into. Funny thing is, I left the car sitting for about half an hour and then I came back to turn on and it sounded normal untill I pulled on the TB cable to rev... then the sound came back.

I will also check into the exhaust leak... I used the same gasket as before... Looked ok but it's also worth checking into... Thanks for the great ideas...

    KEEP THEM COMING! :-)

I'm by no means a k-series expert, there are guys with way more experience here.
Piston slap is caused by worn piston rings/cylinder walls. This allows the bottom of the piston to "rock" in the bore and bang up against the cylinder wall. Probably not the problem, forget I mentioned it.

Two things that I would have checked shortly after I put the motor in are the compression, and the Valve Lash .

After looking at your post here its looks like you may have bearing problems due to all the rust that came off those cams.

Yeah... This is exactly what another member on here who is a Honda Tech told me to do. Gonna check the clearance, but is the clearance of the K24 the same as the A3?

Thanks for the links BTW :-)

So... went onto You Tube to see what different sound clips of Valve Lash and bad Rod Bearings sound like and what it sounds like it Valve lash more than anything. I don't think it's the timing, but if it is I'm a have my homie that works @ honda look at it and do the timing for me. Next weekend I' planning on doing the Valve adjustment and go from their... Hoping that will solve my problem. All the valve noise is coming from cylinder 1 area.
