No. Not worth it. OEM K20 cams are the shit. K24a2 or k20a2 or Itr k20a intake and k2xa2 ex cam.
Save the money. And your gonna be hard pressed to see 230whp out of an a3. Even with cams.
Swap

OEM cams = run without issues.

Ok so I'm doing a k24a2 swap soon with future S/C E85 upgrade in mind.
However I really want at least 230whp right of the bat so I can really feel the difference from my k20a3. What I'm trying to figure out now is if its worth investing on stage 2 cams, valves, valve springs, and retainers if I'm planning on S/C the engine? Or would it be better to keep it stock but with I/h/e untill I start my S/C project?
Thansk for any insight.

Thanks anyone's .02 are appriciated.
But what I meant isnt very clear I guess lol.
I'm wondering if I build the k24a2 head( IPS KME, supertech valve springs, retainers, etc) if it would be benefitial to my future S/C build for the same K24a2 engine. I want to be able to drop the k24a2 and feel a night and day diffrence from my little a3. So 230whp is what I'm shooting for right of the bat with the swap.
I dont plan on doing anything with my a3. I'll just be re-using my DC Ceramic, Headers AEM CAI, and EVO2 Greddy thats bolted on right now.
Thanks :)
