    VW mods on the cheap (cheap mods)

    i stumbled on this thread last night after a google search...

    theres some pretty good ideas in there. i like cheap mods : )
    thought i would share. its an old thread but i couldnt find anything when i searched here.

    most of these are universal. personally i like the mini keg heatshield and a few others... the "hardwood" spare cover is kinda cool too. being that the thread was old, there isnt anything ground breaking...
    i just thought it would be cool to share as im a cheapskate always looking for something to do under a hundred bucks.

    not to brag but, so far at +- $100 ea. ive gotten:

    intake (aem v2), exhaust(ebay), lowering springs (eibach sportlines), window visors(weathertech), "JDM" amber markers (ebay), tint (hey was under $100)... basically everything ive done to my car with the exception of wheels/tires.

    little odds and ends like the VW ones are what make a persons car unique i think.

    Good luck to you and your dad with the Vdub! i had a thing for jettas for a long time, never got one.

    My under $100 mods...lets see..

    Chad Style Sub-box *including $50 subwoofer..lol..but I did have all the fiberglass material layin around*
    Black Headliner/interior
    Foot-well LEDs
    Full Interior light LED conversion
    Additional LED lights in the trunk
    Suede shift boot and hand brake cover
    WeatherTech rain guards, and floor liners
    Hondata Airbox with heat wrap on it
    AEM Plug cover
    PIAA Sport Horns
    CTR Style OEM USDM Taillight conversion w/ integrated foglight *under $100 without the switch*

    Thats all I can think of.

    I showed my buddy the link cuz hes got a Jetta and hes gonna be spending the rest of the weekend doing a bunch of those mods..lol

    i think im going to get some of that CF vynil wrap from auto zone this weekend... im gonna try to lay it over the RED on the SI emblems. im thinking of making one of those exhaust "gaurds" like evos and subies out of the same stuff.

    the cf vynal will probably end up melting/coming loose on the exhaust "sheild" thing.

    i imagine it will pretty quick. my bumper was a little close to the tip at one point. notice i said was... it melted.

    after i toy with the hangers a little bit to see if i can clear a little more ground, ill see how close the exhaust tip sits to the bumper. if its not too close i MAY try this. im bored.

    depending on how much the vynil is, i may just tape and paint the SI emblems. i have the paint and tape... just thought i would get flashy flash with CF lol
