Falken Azenis
^Heres my car for reference. (the black Civic is mine)
Hello ladies and gentlemen, looking to purchase some new rubber for my wheels. After seeing some old school muscle/GT cars sporting tires with white lettering, I decided I want something of the like for my car. Ive searched high and low for these kinds of tires for sport compacts but to no avail, only found sizes for SUVs and some old muscle cars. So if I am mistaken, please do enlighten me on whats out there. Looking for anything with white lettering in a size like 215/45/17. Brands like Goodyear, BFGoodrich, Toyo, Cooper, Bridgestone, Yokohama preferred but open to whats out there.
P.S. I will not resort to a DIY painted tire lettering deal, only wanna cop tires that come that way.
I'm used to seeing this on muscle cars/slicks. I'm not sure how it would flow with such thin rubber.
Are those Falken Azenis good for street/daily use? (Im guessing they wont last very long since they high performance?)
And MBag, in regards to your input what about those Azenis above? You think it look good?
Thanks for the input guys, appreciated.
i think the falkiens looks good because of the font and the fact that it's not "raised" lettering. i think the big raised old school white tire writing should be reserved for slicks and older cars.
i think an ep3 would look pretty sick on those falkiens though.
PS the photoshop job on that mustang is a lolfest hahah
why did they chop slicks on the front of a rwd car
I did white lettering on my old rt615 it came out bomb looking
The size was 205/50/15 I can't find any pics but it came out great.

Yup i had a friend that used to do this to his R1 tires. All he used was a marker which you can purchase at any local art store.

I think it looks sexy on the right car. That EK looks pretty good!
However this looks like poo IMO.

They carry a specific paint for tire lettering, and a self painted tire actually comes out far better looking than a factory lettering job, Take the time to check out various tires at the tire shop, they are not very uniform as far as 'following the lines", a third grader can do a better job about 75% of the time.
I also make sure that any tire I purchase that has the white lettering be mounted inboard or it is removed by sandblasting.
