I ran over a dead raccoon last month, and it murdered my car. No damage to speak of really, but just as soon as that raccoon passed under my car, my can won't run... It will start, and idle till the sun comes up, but if you give it any sudden gas, the car dies right out. The exhaust has an odd smell to it. I took it to the dealer, and they said i need a new wiring harness ($2700, eff that!) I took it home to check the harness, and i can't find anything wrong with it like they were talking about... I did notice that when i started the car with the throttle body completely disconnected, it was doing the exact same thing as its always doing, which struck me as especially odd.
Could it be that the TPS just went bad (shorted or or something)? If so, how can I check it? i have a multimeter, but I'm not THAT savvy with those things.
Any suggestions? I need to fix it and get this car sold! ASAP
