    Spark plug shot out

My spark plug shot out and it landed by my headers when i was pulling out of the gas station today. All the threads on the plug are good but the spacer tip was broken off. Anybody know what would cause this?

Be glad the threads are fine. There really is no reason for the plug to blow out other than that it was loose. I never use a torque wrench on plugs for that reason. Simply don't trust it. There are too many variables when using a torque wrench on spark plugs like carbon buildup and temperature of the head during installation. Have always hand tightened with a ratchet through my career.

This took a turn for the worst today.... I test the threads on the far passenger side with a new plug and they were good. When i got to the third one going from passenger to driver the plug was seized. I use liquid wrench and finally got it to break free but when i pulled the plug half the threads and the head of the plug was gone. i looked in to find them still locked in there. So, i left to the auto parts store and get an EZ out. After 3 adpaters and 3 sockes i got it to break free! No.. not really, the EZ out shattered and the tip is lock in the head of the plug thats locked into the cylinder...woot...pulling the head tomorrow.

    Cliff notes

Third one going from passenager to driver has an EZ out broken and seized in a broken spark plug head thats seized in there. pulling the head tomorrow

In the works on the pulling the head. The more i think about this situation i starting to think the steel plug thread welded themselves to the aluminum. It was over heating a couple days before all hell broke loose. Here is some pictures of my headache..
