iPhone dock head unit - Kickstarter project

I just stumbled onto this and thought it was pretty sweet.

Basically, it's a dock that uses your iPhone 4/4S as the main interface for the audio system. The developers are promising different faceplates to work with Android and Windows phones later.

More info and a video here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...one-car-stereo

^^$600 instead of $300 and I'd rather have my phone in there.

After looking at a video of it on youtube, it actually looks pretty awesome. And there is a $399 version with a 6.1" screen which, IMO, would be more than enough. My only concern would be that it doesn't look like it supports a ton of apps, whereas with the Dash, it would support all apps.

I've been looking around for a new head unit. I'm still rocking stock but started a new job recently with a longer commute. I've had two head units stolen out of my vehicle in years past so I havent really given much thought to spending over a few hundred on one again. But Dash looks very promising. The only issue it poses is that Verizon is currently trying its damnedest to get people off of unlimited data and having a streaming signal from my car for 2 hours a day plus using spotify mobile at work would destroy my data... not to mention with iPhone 5 (or whatever) right around the corner....

I have Alpine w407 perfect product for iphones and ipods. U just plug your iphone all your music and videos are on the screen. You control you iphone from touch screen. ( Also charges your iphone when you plug it ) Highly recommended.

Paid over $800 year ago. I am sure you can find more cheaper. Here is the pic. iXA-W407BT.jpg
