    But unless you're putting down insane power 245s should be more than sufficient

    On a 9" rim you will get noticeably better handling with a 245. 255s need 9.5"/10" rims.

    A 9.5 can/will. I know there are DC5s with 10s. If they can, we can. It just takes more effort on our EPs.

    You know how I love my 245s but I think they are the bare minimum for our chassis when it comes to traction, even with it being a track tire. But it's a pretty nice size and a good compromise for street. We weigh well over 2,000 lbs. and sit high for a corner carver. 255s are pretty sweet but they are heavier, less nimble, expensive, lower mpgs, and less practical for dd. Every size seems to have a trade off.

    That said, I'd love to rock 275s front, 255s rear.

    The hardest part for me is the diameter that has to be used for wide tread. I would kill for a 24" diameter with 10" tread. I would have sex with a very large hairy arm pitted women for a 24" diameter and 10" tread.

    I'll throw this wider tread/traction thread on here since it applies to this thread. This was preceded by a tire test article (BFG Rival kicked ass) in the December GRM issue.

    +40 ofgset on 17x8 fits 235s in the front no problem. Rear needs to be rolled.

    Now running 17x8 +38 for the 245s all around

    so how do the 17x8 on 245's feel? I'm looking into getting 17x8 +35 or 17x8.5 +30 (offset might be too low for what I'm going for on these though)

    already posted this on powers thread but if you got some input let me hear it lol

    i was looking into SHG_eazye's set up with his 17x9 +35 calculated the numbers and the poke is just about the same as my current set up 17x8.25 +25 with a difference of the 8.25's sticking out .475 mm more and 20.445 mm in. so if he can run 245's we should be able too! ...i think? lol or would it be better to run 235's to counter the roundness of the sidewalls to get better fitment? what

    From Powers' thread;

    245s will work fine up front but 225s will handle better with the 8.25" wheel size . 245s in the rear require some fender work.

    I have 245/45s on 8.5", 37 offset wheels,10 mm spacers, and R lcas up front. Therefore they required about 1 3/4" to 2" of fender work. 225s rear. The reason I put 245s on 8.5s is because RA1s can handle well with a smaller width wheel. Extreme Summers, for this conversation, like a tread width equal to the wheel width, or close to it.

    SHG also did some fender pulling.

    What Hasbro said.

    SHG_EasyE has similar mods to hasbro with DC5R front LCAs and fender work. What compound tires are you planning on using?

    just picked up some 05-06 RSX-S stockies for balls cheap with tires. they're mounted on 235/50/17 tires. im not to sure about the specs of the rims so anyone running this set up that could let me know if itll fit or if i need to get spacers to run them? any info would be great!
