Stock 05 EP3 (IHE) looking to reflash questions?

I have a stock 2005 ep with a Injen cai MR ,strup shorty header,megan test pipe,megan midpipe and a stock axel-back.I dont see myself doing anything more to it but maybe wheels and a better sound system but id like to get the $300 reflash "K20A3-Si ECU flash program 7700 rpm REV limit".
I have a few questions, first can i even flash a stock 05 ecu?I'm seeing that the 05 ecu does not work and you need a 02-04 ecu to reflash, is that true?Should I buy from a local area dealer or just order it off corsports website for $295?I understand you need to uninstall the ecu send it to hondata then hook it back in right?with some car downtime unless you bought another stock ecu?
Do you guys think this is the best lower cost upgrade i could do for my egg?Let me know if i should know anything else.Thanks!

I was in the same situation. I was told only K-pro will work. I ended up not doing anything yet. According to Hondadata 04 ecu will not work on 05. If you find different LMK.
