    Cheapest Reputable K20a2 source?

Ok so i've got a new job making enough money to put away for my swap and a decent tax return coming and have talked myself out of a k24a2 and into the k20a2 so that leads me to the question where should I buy from that is a great deal, but reputable?

    p.s I'm in Maryland.

There's not a direct source for such a thing. You'll have to check around your local salvage yards and what-not. As far as "reputable" goes.. There's no way of really knowing unless you take apart the motor.

    Car-Part.com is my recommendation.

It will give you a list of those motors for sale and links to the salvage yards website. You'll have to contact them for details and see what happened to the vehicle that the motor was originally in. See if there's a warranty, and how long it has been sitting around.. Also ask about a compression test.

    Reputable? Yes.

cheap and reputable usually don't go hand in hand when it comes to engines.

I'd also suggest LKQ as someone else stated above, but I've purchased two engines from them that have had some serious issues. They are also a pain in the ass if you try to get a refund. Of course, you don't have to take my word for it.

I would only recommend a company that will warranty the motor. I bought one from a junk yard that had been flipped. Got a great deal since I ended up buying the whole car and was able to make some money back on parting out, but the trans had a hairline crack at the midshaft and the ecu shorted out and kept blowing a relay and tach didn't work. Costing me more now since I have to k-pro my stock si ecu just to finish my swap. Was going to k-pro this summer anyway, but still ended up with bad luck from my experience. Don't know any reputable aside from actual shops, but they want way too much around where I live. Just be a little weary if you do car-parts.com unless they warranty at the junk yard
