Yes, k24a2 has better internals.. "Beefier" internals and has individual oil squirters for each cylinder.. That's just to name a few things. I don't know them all.. But, if you're going NA and not building the engine.. I'd go with the TSX k24a2. If you're going boost (which I see that you are) I would get the CR-V k24a1.

The reason the CR-V k24a1 motor is better for boost is because it's lower compression.

    k24a2 compression ratio is 10.5:1
    k24a1 compression ratio is 9.6:1

Built NA/All motor cars will have a very high compression ratio
Built motors for boost will have a relatively low compression ratio

    Those are the basics.

Awe come on! Where's the fun in that? Strip some bolts, bang some knuckles, and drink some beers putting it in. Take it there when you want to get it tuned

It would be nice to do my own install but I really don't have the time or space for that.... I have always liked working on my own cars but for this big of a job I am letting a professional do it lol

try it on your own and you will feel accomplished and save alot more money other than paying someone to do it. As a matter of Fact when i installed my turbo kit, Guardian kept chimming in with some advice and tech help, so i have him to thank for that accomplishment of mine. I installed my first turbo kit and im not even a certified mechanic and the a3 is 50k deep in turbo mileage and still going strong minus the clutch.. Good luck on the engine swap though bro! Hope it comes out beastly for you.

Time 4 the k24a1 swap now though. I need more power for the DD.

    No k24a1 is 9.6:1

And their are no ac line issues with k24 swap

You're right, my mistake. I looked it up on wiki real quick and accidentally gave the compression for the k23a1 from the RDX that's right above the k24a1.. Haha

Yep, good deal with that amount of miles on it, especially with the IM and header. Normal that I've seen is around $600 for 60k on the A1s. Ask him if the alternator and starter are included as well.
