Aftermarket basic coilovers damper kit going bad?

A half a year ago I bought my first EP3. Cool story right? Anyways, the car came with after market struts and coilovers. I believe they were the aftermarket basic coilovers damper kit made by a brand that starts with a "t" and ends with a "n". I don't know if we're able to mention brands on this forum. I have two questions.

Firstly, how do you know when your coilovers or suspension is going bad?

Secondly, I want to lower my car a little bit more. When I bought the car, it did not include the tool that's used to adjust ride height. Is there a DIY on how to adjust your rides aftermarket struts and coilovers?

BTW, this is my first post ever. Bare with me guys. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah u have Tein basic coils. If your suspension feels very bouncy or spongy its bad. As for the tool I'd call them directly and order from them.

My car doesn't feel bouncy at all. So that's a good thing. It's actually the complete opposite. Whenever I hit a really small bump, it feels like I'm running over a huge pothole and my entire car seems like it's just going to break in half. When I first got the ep, it didn't feel that sensitive. I might just be paying attention to it more than before. Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, they're a bit stiffer than stock, not bad though. You should be alright.
