id do it- pick it up and then look for a k24 bottom end. k24a1 or k24a2 i think are bolt on. slap the k20a2 head on it and re-use the oil pump. you will enjoy that a whole lot more than the 2.0liter.
So I found a K20A2 locally for $300 for a full long block. I called the guy up and apparently he says the bottom end is toast. He said the main bearings are shot. Car had about 97k KM on it when the motor went. I'm thinking about maybe picking it up, but I donno if it'd be worthwhile to rebuild it. I found i can get new good quality main bearings for around $25 for the set, and know the block is gonna have to be turned/honed again, but I wanted to see what you guys think. Worse case senario, i'd buy the whole motor and just use the head (vtec killer system or swap the A2 head onto my block).
Thoughts??

plus you can probbly even sell the blown bottom end for a couple bucks im sure someone would take it
I'd get it!..... if not to use the motor, but maybe parts....???

You can part it out and make back acouple hundred. If the main bearings are shot then the engine was probably had oil starvation sooo to the point, I would stay away from re using that oil pump. Do it right the first time.
I am very appreciated
i would do it for just the head, think about it K20a2 heads go for 800 bux in my area. even if u do it to flip it.
