Hey, I have been searching around and have not yet found an answer to my question.
I know on the 6th gen civics if you replaced the head unit with a aftermarket one the alarm and key-less entry would no longer work because the wiring went though the head unit.
What I want to know is if I take the aftermarket head unit from my 97 civic and put it in my ep3 will the ep3 stock alarm and key-less entry still work, or will I have to install an aftermarket alarm system?
Im not sure about the alarm, but as far as the keyless entry you should be fine.
The alarm and key-less are separate in the ep, you should be fine. I installed my head unit and i didnt see any extra wires for a alarm or anything, just the standard wires.

That keyless entry thing only happened on the 96-98 civic's with keyless entry also on those cars you would lose the dome light and would have to bypass the harness the 99-00 civic's solved that problem
