    upgraded tranny

Here's a quick vid of what my trans sounds like :(

I'm wondering for all us turbo guys, are you all running on ur stock trannys? Ever since going turbo I got the 3rd gear grind which I switched to carbon synchros. And now my 4th gear sounds like a freaking machine gun. What are the other turbo guys running for trannys? I'm thinking of just getting a remanufactured synchrotec 5spd and adding carbon synchros to it.

i had that problem. its about to go. make sure you have oil in it and dont drive it. find a stock replacement if its cheaper. stock ones can handle good power if you maintain it well and dont slam gears like your autoX.

If you can try finding a stock rsx base tranny... those go pretty cheap and they help when you are boosted. That would be your cheapest route.

KMOD uses synchrotech gears to rebuild their transmissions and it's about $400 cheaper

True but the one your looking at thats 999, doesn't include a 4th gear which is what I need, and it also doesnt cover shipping. I'm sure shipping a trans is a pretty penny.

Fedex Ground will ship it as long as it weighs less than 150 lbs (including the packaging). I'm sure a bare trans weighs less than that. A 145 lb crate will cost about $75 to $100 to ship within the lower 48 states. And I'm sure you can request specific gear ratios from KMOD.

Regadless I still get a 1 year warranty with synchrotec . I didn't see any warranty with kmod. On the website st the bottom it says its 200 for them to ship it back to u. So that still doesn't cover shipping it to them

Just got off the phone with synchrotec. 2150 for one of their rebuilt trannys with carbon synchros, LSD, shipped .
