No, the EP3-R uses the same axles as the RSX-S
so does the EP use the same halfshaft axle as the EP3R?
No, the EP3-R uses the same axles as the RSX-S
so to do a k20a swap I have to go with a full 5 lug conversion?
sweet! because that's alot of extra expense to account for that I wanted to be sure of. Where did you source your motor from?
what did you pay? JW! Was it full swap ENG, TRANS, ECU or what?
Does that mean Just Wondering?
I paid $4'800 cash and it included:
- engine
- transmission
- ECU
- axles
- exhaust manifold and cat with O2 sensors
- engine harness complete and uncut
- charge harness complete and uncut
1. You're EP3 axles will work.
2. If you're using the JDM ECU you'll need the JDM O2 sensors and you'll have to bypass the immobilizer relay behind the glove box.
3. you might or might not have to notch the shifter base to be able to get into reverse
4. everything else bolts right up and is straight forward.

5 speed EP3's do not have reverse lockout. 6 speed EP's have an electrical lockout so you don't accidentally engage reverse from 5th gear. I would recommend using the JDM harness because it has reverse lockout wired in. If you use your EP3 harness, you'll have to wire in the reverse lockout. If you can find a clean swap that has all the harnesses intact and uncut, you won't have to wire anything and it'll all work properly.
As for the BC short shifter, I'm not 100% sure whether or not it'll engage reverse. You'll have to read up on it to know for sure.
how hard is it to rewire.. seems like a PIA!
Rewiring it would be a huge headache, I think you could also use a K20A2 harness
I meant to use the new harness you have to run it up into the dash and shit right? sounds like a PIA, no?
you don't need reverse lockout
ok so I could just stick with my stock harness!
