    Wanting More from the JRSC....................

So I have a JRSC on my swap and want more power out of it but scared IAT's will be to high.... Comments? Concerns? Lets here them.... Been having trouble finding the right belt size for my current setup so I get belt slip and only hit around 5psi. In 6 or 7 rib the belts go from 630 to 640, The 640 fits tight for a couple days then stretches enough and the tensioner maxes out. And the 630 is to small to fit. Im thinking of swapping over to a 3.4" or 3.2" and hopefully be able to use the 630 belt I have. Other option I've been thinking about is buy and 8 or 9 rib 635 and cut the ribs off to fit????? Just asking for opions,

    06 k24 tsx block
    K20a ITR head
    EP specific JRSC kit
    3.8" SC pulley
    Newer accord CP
    Modded Auto tensioner

IAT issue- add a meth kit. instant power bump since you cant add an aftercooler. i picked up over 30whp from meth alone

belt issue- modify your stock autotensioner. trim the stops on the tensioner so that the swing arm has more room to travel. works like a charm

setup- i would just pick up a 06-08 TSX longblock- they make great power and cost a hell of a lot less than a K20a. EP JRSC kit will also hold you back- the manifold and inlet flow like dog poop compared to the RSX kit.

Thought about the meth kit but kinda iffy on the complications of tuning when im just street tuning for now..

I'm on the stock tensioner and i've grinded the stop down some but still isn't enough. Find the thread about modding the stock tensioner, I was one of the first to do it and post pics lol

And it is a TSX block with a stock ITR head on top with ITR oil pump, pan, and cooler. With Maxbored TB and Port matched SC inlet

Thinking about just getting the DC5 JRSC manifold and do an aftercooler setup but don't want to drop that much GUAP on something that still probably wont satisfy me :(

Meths ur best bet. Nothing to be iffy about street tune or not. If u were to run it on ur current tune now, it would do nothing but make u run a little richer. It aint nitrous

meth is an awesome alternative for those of us not able to run an aftercooler. street tuning for it shouldnt be an issue too- you will know exactly when it kicks in as you will run pretty rich.

can i assume you have a jdm k20a swapped in? i honestly wouldnt frank that thing- you are essentially building a really expensive k24a2. from a purely budget minded perspective- if you want the k24 setup i would sell the JDM k20a- pick up a k24a2 longblock and with the extra coin pick up a meth kit and port match your inlet and maxbore tb. run a 3in pulley with the stock crank- make ~9psi and easily break 300whp.

The k20a hydro locked over a year ago. I've been running A k24/k20 since last January. I have a water meth kit already in the garage that a buddy gave me just not sure on the quality. I'll post a pic later today

He posted his setup above. His inlet and TB are bore matched. He has a TSX bottom end with a k20aR head.

His issue now is finding a way to make enough boost without increasing IAT temps beyond their usefulness.

The k20aR longblock used the same charger/setup and saw over 10psi. Just adding the TSX bottom end with its additional displacement dropped his charge to 5-6psi. The bad thing is the charger is spinning the same speed to make less boost.

Personally i would raise the compression of the engine to 12.5 and look to raise boost to a solid 7psi. That would likely be youre limit on local pump w/o meth or nitrous.

Or... ill buy the charger from you and you can go turbo. : )

    haha this guy here.

you can get some supertech flat face valves to help bump the compression.

my fault- thought that was a future planned setup. i would start with a smaller boost pulley and meth then.

What Kinda of numbers is it putting down now? How is driveability?

I'm looking at a sc setup for the next step on my car after i put a z3 tranny in.

    how difficult to tune?

I did some e tuning for him just to flatten out the AFR's a bit... his k20a with the charger at 10psi (i drove it then) was sick... i can imagine the TQ of the k24 would only make it even more of a handful. Odds are hes 290whp and 250wtq since hes untuned (i dont think he ever got anyone else to tune it that i know of).

I know i took it down the road sometime last year, and this was on a slipping clutch if i remember correctly, and the pull of the thing was pretty got damn nice lol. That type R trans is retarded with that setup lol, you change gears so damn fast. But I think he needs to control his belt issue, maybe go with a different crank pulley and then get that shit tuned.

Yeah never got it on a dyno cause I haven't got it to a setup im happy with yet. But Ba82Ep3's street tune has it running decent, drivability isn't to bad. Debating if I want to drop the coin for a rsxs manifold and aftercooler set up or just sell the SC and return to NA or Turbo..

Here's the water meth kit my buddy gave me that he pulled off his turbo tibby before he sold it. Not sure on nozzle size or anything really about the kit. Nozzle says HAGO MW7 on it. Flow Jet Pump and SMC enterprises V2.0 controller. The controller has a vacumn line that runs to it to tell the pump when to spray, and looks like theres a low level indicator inside the tank too. If I was to run it I would control it through krpo more than likely. The tank is to a Tiburon, I've already pulled the ep tank and made a bracket so this one will fit in its place if I decide to use it.

That looks like a very nice and well designed kit you got there. If you ever decide to part with it, I'd be more than interested!
