    Burning smell... help needed.

Along with the burning smell I noticed that my clutch felt strange. Not sure if it was spongy feeling or what but I immediately went home and took my other car to work. My ep has been sitting ever since.

Another piece of info that may or may not be relevant. I noticed I was a bit low on oil, so I topped off immediately. That didn't seem to help the burning or soft clutch feel.

    Thoughts?

It smells like melting plastic or burnt rubber. I checked around and there wasn't any sort of plastic bag melting anywhere.

Hoping it's not my clutch going out, previous owner said he replaced it at 100k. I'm currently at 160k.

...but if it is do you guys recommend going with an oem replacement?

My clutch is slipping real bad now. Next day off I am gettin it replaced. My clutch started to feel spongy first then I noticed the clutch slipping. I know my master or slave isn't leaking. Maybe you should lift it to see if its that.

    Sup Joe,
Not yet. Planning too. I'll probably give him a call tmrw morning. You think it's the clutch? I'm wondering if previous owner really did replace it at 100k.

i use the exedy oem replacement clutch. in my k20a. gave it a nice mellow break in for 500 miles and it is great.
im using the stock tranny, thats why i got this oem.
i figured im not putting down that much more torque than the a3, so this should hold fine.
