Low key ep3 build by ITSN Powers

Alrighty then let me give you a little background on my Ep.

So I bought the Ep November of 2011 after I transferred from Corry station in Pensacola Florida to naval station norfolk in Norfolk Virginia in October of 2011.

When I bought the Ep my original plan for it was the typical young and dumb kids idea. Hellaflush with some ballin rims exhaust intake a nice sound system and call it a day.

Plans can and did change in a brief amount of time.

I now want something completly different then that. I'm in the process of making the perfect dd/weekend warrior. But at the sametime keeping it low key and super clean.

As of now the Ep is sporting the following:

    Exterior:
    Depo headlights
    02-03 Jdm taillights
    Seibon carbon fiber mugen wing
    JDM front bumper
    CTR lip
    CTR grill
    JDM side skirts

    Suspension/brakes:
    Xxr 527 rims 17x8.25 with a +25 offset
    Nitro neogens 215/45
    Aspec suspension
    Moog tie rod ends
    Moog rear end links
    Cusco rear sway
    Function 7 lower tie bar
Function 7 rear lower control arms
A cool HR awesome sauce air freshener
    Ingalls camber bolts
    Buddyclub roll center adjusters
    Buddyclub rear camber arms
    Wilwood bbk
    Willwoods flex line kit
    Stop tech blank rear rotors
Stop tech street performance rear pads
Stop tech rear stainless brake lines
    Hotchkis camber/castor plates
Type r front lower control arms
    Pci offset spherical bearings
    Type r front sway
    Moog front end links

    Under the hood:
    2007 K24a2 with 64k miles
Synchrotech 5 speed trans with mfactory LSD
    Type s oil pump kit
    Hpt lower chain guide
    RBC intake mani
    Thermal gaskets
    Competition stage two clutch
    Competition clutch lightweight flywheel
    Kiddracing race header
    Injen cold air intake
    Apexi noir catback
    Hybrid racing shifter cables
    Buddyclub short shifter
And the golden ticket Hondata kpro

The following still needs to be purchased for the soul of the car:
    Type r front chassis brace
Type r aluminum b pillar bar
    Cusco rear strut tower bar
    Enkei 17x9 rpf1
    Dunlop zii's 245/40r17
    ASP header
    Ktuned three inch exhaust
    Z3 spec ct engineering supercharger

Oh and my Ep no longer sports ac and is gutted.

So if you haven't picked up on it yet the cars appearance isn't high on my priorities right now. So then what comes next if the suspension is complete and brakes wheels and tires are already chosen?

Well it's in my last name Power.

For the motor I've been going back and forth on options ideas and plans. Ranging from killer vtec and a itr tranny to an all motor k24 build to a stock k24a2 with a jrsc to a boosted k20a2.

I came to one conclusion and solid idea so far though. I want boost and a smooth controllable power band.

So I deffinetlly will be purchasing a jrsc this winter coming up or spring next year. And yes it will be the type s jrsc for the aftercooler. I'd like to see 10-12psi out of it.

But what about the motor? I'd like to hear some opinions for all you ephatchers.

Tonight I had a brain blast though I'd like to have more torque and have high revs like up to 8-9 rpm shifts. So what about a 2.2 build on a cheap a3 bare block?

Everyone seems to complain about the JRSC's limitations. Too many RPM's, too much heat, less power and efficiency.

If you wanna SC and want to make the most of it... i would raise your compression by changing the pistons. Because the JRSC builds heat the faster it spins... then it needs to be considered a power adder... NOT a power maker. Let me explain...

Look at a JRSC as a cherry on top of the sundae... not the ice cream. The engine is the ice cream... the largest part of the dessert. The cherry compliments the ice cream. Build the engine to make power, and the JRSC to take advantage of all the benefits of boost.

My suggestion? Supertech 12.5cr pistons and plan on 4-6psi with the JRSC on 93 octane. The best of both worlds... with daily reliability.

Yes. People run stock k20a2 blocks with 4-600whp (turbo) all the time. Sleeving $ could go to much better places... like trans work with LSD. I mean if you want it to want it then no worries... but you could advance the rest of the project that much faster if you didnt sleeve.

Yeah man why not? I mean... no need to deprive yourself of the fun both the building experience and the driving will give you. Hell along the way you may find out what you end up with might be enough to keep you happy, and save yourself a lot of money. *shrugs* You never know bro...

... i know i just hate staring at parts in a corner... perfectly good parts that could be giving me a good time. Why hook up with a fine ass chic if youre only gonna hold hands? Bang it out man... lol

Ooooh I would love to chime on this thread, but I'm on the way to do some disc golf.

While in the wait, please send some pics of those HR shifter cables for me! I'm about to purchase a 6 speed trans, HR shifter cables and clutch line, and bcss.

As soon as I get home ill try to on the piece of shit computer I have. I believe I took comparison pictures of them and the stock ones.

Make sure you grease the hell out of the plastic caps on the bcss or else it will not center correctly.
