    Exhaust options, bad cat..

Had a buddy of mine stop over last night with his obd2 scanner. Only code it threw was the catalyst one. As many of you already know Honda wants over 1K for an OEM cat, yea fug that. And high flow cats don't last very long...

I have a K&N ram air intake and a eBay axle back muffler. I planned on slapping my oem muffler back on here soon.

I guess my question is what are my options? Delete cat with all stock exhaust? Or run a high flow and pray is lasts more than a year?

As long as you don't have to worry about emmissions, yea you can use a test pipe (bolts right up). I have a Megan test pipe now (very decently priced) and it works great. Make sure you pick up a right angled O2 defouler though or you'll throw a CEL code. I had a strait one and still threw a code but since I went to a right angle one I haven't.

My set-up is Fujita RAI/ Megan headers/ Megan test pipe/ and ebay cat-back. The ebay exhaust is an exact copy of the Megan "drift spec" muffler. It has a loud but deep and not raspy at all. I'm thinking about swapping to a OBX twin loop muffler soon to quiet it down... we'll see.

Here's the O2 defouler (they're on ebay too):

Awesome. Yeah I found the Megan test pipe for 120$, can't beat that!

Think it would sound pretty good with the test pipe and stock header/stock axelback?

Should sound pretty good, definately a deep sound.

Probably a little quiet at low RPMs (which can be a good thing). That's what I want, a little bit of a quiet sound when cruising but loud/ deep when I'm on the throttle.

If emissions is an issue u can run a magnaflow high flow cat. There like 50 bucks. Just need a shop to weld it on. If you go test pipe you can get the defouler from ur local parts store for a few dollars. There's a great diy on crsx for it a long with pics of everything u need
