They are indeed bigger/thicker. As long as you have the Rsx-S brake set up you will be fine. The inboard splines on both axles are the same.
I will be swapping a K20A2 engine soon but right now I need new axles and the new motor doesnt have them. First question to verify is that the RSX-S ones are in fact thicker than the EP3 ones and are designed to handle more HP?, and second as long as I order the correct hub will they fit the K20A3 for the time being? I got an 04 model that already has the 04 RSX-S brake upgrade with HFP wheels.

Thanks for the good info guys, I just ordered my Type S hubs and drive shafts.
I got the Type S hubs and axles put in and it made quite a difference, I like the way it rides a lot better. Feels pretty solid.
Do you have the K20A2 yet? did you upgrade to type s brakes too?
