    JDM CTR Ball Joints

    Does a JDM CTR EP3 take DC5 ITR/05-06 Type S or EM1/RSX Base/USDM EP3 ball joints?

I can not find a direct straight up answer to this ANYWHERE.

I would think it would be EP3/02-04 DC5 balljoints

That is what I am thinking too, I mean I am like %80 sure that they are. But I cant confirm this.

I ordered a legit JDM CTR 5 Lug swap which should be here on monday so I will know then.

But I am trying to order new Buddy Club ball joints and I'm afraid to get the wrong size.

The JDM CTR was literally a EDM CTR that Honda of Japan imported from the Swindon, England plant.

RememberALL EP3's were made in Swindon, England and yes, that means the JDM's ones too. Honda of Japan just interchanged the K20A2 and trans for the better powerplant that came with the DC5-R along with the brake package.

    Everything else stayed the same.

Order the ball joints labeled for the 02-04 DC5 Type S/02-05 EP3.

My assumption is that they use the smaller style ball joints that our USDM EP3s take. I ordered them from Buddy Club, hopefully they fit.

Nobody is sure of this. There is no "%100 I got the right part" Nobodys cross reference shows the ball joints as being for the CTR period.

I wont know for sure until the CTR 5 lug stuff gets here on Monday.

It could show up and be the large ball joint from the ITR/05-06 DC5-S.

The EP3 CTR takes the smaller ball joint. Confirmed as I now have a complete 5 lug CTR conversion, with "Type R" imprint calipers. Pics soon.

And yes, the front hubs take type s axles.

Nice! so it's pretty much a dc5s setup with 'type R' embossed on the caliper.

Thanks for updating this thread instead of just leaving the thread unresolved.

Oh, yeah, I dontl like threads left hanging, especially when I find so many when I am looking for answers.

Essentially all EP3 Type Rs have identical suspension to the 2002-2004 RSX Type-S, well actually vis versa, since the EP3 came out first.

The only difference is the 04-05 model (only those years) had the "Type R" imprint calipers.

I am going to make a thread on the swap, as soon as my Type S axle comes in on Tuesday. I am painting the calipers silver and the "Type R" red. I will take lots of pics and such.

Another interesting thing to note, is that you can actually run our stock caliper on the larger Type S rotor with some playing with the brackets, and it will fit exact. I will be doing that for a week while I rebuild the "Type R" imprint calipers. (thank god ATE Super Blue is back in stock!!)

Should I post the CTR FIVE LUG SWAP thread in JDM or in SUSPENSION?

    Essentially, powertrain-wise:

    02-06 EDM EP3-R = 02-04 RSX-S
