Authentic mugen grill fitment q's

So i got a jdm bumper with an authentic mugen grill and lip but the grill dosnt sit right. It sits high and pushes up my hood... The previous owner just double sided taped it. Are you supposed to shave and fit an authentic grill? Or is it made to sit perfect? I was gonna sand it untill i felt like sanding the inside to find the authentication stamp and found out it was real lol

Didn't you have a mugen rep grill on your usdm bumper? How did that sit?

no i did not... but i tried it on my usdm one and its not so great either.

I don't think there are different rep mugen 02/03 grills. No difference between usdm and jdm spec

I read they never sat perfectly my hood actually rubs against it and some of the paint chipped off from the grill idk if that's how the mugen intended but a lot of people say it doesn't sit flush

authentic or rep, the grill is gonna sit a little high. have you tried raising the hood latch a little bit?
