    Ssr supercharger - speak up

does anyone know anything about the SSR (Speed Star Racing) super charger kit on their site? I was originally looking for a JRSC-R kit but had no luck over the past few months. Id like to go turbo, but there arent any good new kits on the market for less than $5000 which i dont want to drop and then not get back whenever i sell my car.

SSR is the only company ihave found that sells a complete new kit for the EP. they claim their charger is larger than a JRSC and produces more power. Not sure how true that is and in the end the power all comes down to the tune and the temperatures.

If this is a reliable unit, then this is comething id consider, especially since i could get the full kit with KPRO for just over 4k. But if anyone knows anything bad about them then please speak up so i dont waste time and money on a bad product.

I'd talk to Jose at merc racing before pulling the trigger. Those m90s are just bigger heat generators- much better options for the money.

I have considered the EMUSA kit but i also know that if i go that route I am going to have to replace the wastegate, BOV, turbo, and mani within the first 2 years which makes the realistic cost of owning it closer to $5000 (new turbo, mani, bov, wastegate, and tune). Plus i have heard that the piping they supply for the intercooler constantly comes apart because the ends are flat and smooth. The route i would go with if i turbo'd would be a precision turbo, quality sidewinder manifold, tial wastegate and bov, and either custom intercooler piping or the greddy intercooler kit. plus KPro, injectors, fuel pump, and tune isnt gonna be cheap. Plus i wouldnt want to install a turbo on my own where as a SC i would consider doing the install and then getting it tuned.

Thats a reasonable conclusion. For that matter I think mustclime on CEP3 might be selling his JRSC for cheap, but needs a rebuild...

With Wayne/SSR's history, I have a good feeling you can get this same kit for much cheaper else where.

You can- Google magnum powers performance. They offer a upgraded m90 adapter kit. My advice- hold out for a used jrsc or go another route. The m90 is just a bigger heat generator.
