dude how many eps do you have???
I never understood why people want the ep3r rear rebar. It needs to be modified. Even more than the usdm one and the way you have to cut it makes it even weaker/unsafe. You might as well not have anything there if you run the modded ep3r rebar.
Modded USDM rebar is IMO the best option.

might as well not have it at all...super light.
I mean the bumper itself is not that heavy but the bar probably is. I can imagine the bumper also helps with air flow and shizit. Well the front bumper at least.
This is where I have a problem. The bars are being purchased by people that probably want something back there to take the impact of a crash.
Yes, the ep3r rear rebar is lighter but that's mostly bc its a thinner gauge steel.
But where/how the TS cut it and the fact that its a thinner gauge steel, its (imo) less safe. I just don't see the point of buying a rebar just to modify it to the point where it pretty much doesn't do anything. If you're gonna modify a rear rebar, cut up a usdm one. IMHO, the modified usdm rebar is the cheapest, strongest, thickest and probably the safest option. It just isn't the lightest
Excatly. Cheaper too if you don't buy it.
If you're cutting up a ep3r rebar to increase rigidity while trying to keep the weight down, SHG_EazyE's modified miata rebar is probably the way to go. That or something similar to the steel/aluminum tube that used to be sold on the forum.
