em2 ball joint replaces our stock ep3 ball joint.

OK after a bit of research I found out that you can replace your ball joints with OEM parts, without buying the whole knuckle. EM2 ball joints are the same, so just buy OEM Honda em2 ball joints. They will also work for all RSX model years 02-04, for you 5 lug swap guys. Part# 51220-s5a-305.
JOINT, FR. BALL (LOWER) - Honda (51220-S5A-305)
Part can be found as reference #2 in illustration.
And the changeable dust boot is #3. The little rubber boots are a maintenance item and should be changed as they wear out... Just like your oil, just like your brakes! If your joint is still good, and the boot is not... Why not just change it before things get worse? It is a $4 part from the Honda dealership.

I also highly advise looking up the little special shop tool that honda makes to seat the boot onto its place. Ohh yeah... Heres the part number on the tool... 07965-SA50500

Droppin' questions on the forumz tooooooo!

    Back from the dead motherfuckers!!!!!

...me and this post, both LOL

Eddie Murphy have you done the EM2 ball joint replacement?
Getting ready to tear the front suspension apart and replace the lower ball joints, already got the parts, but there's no retaining ring.
Are these a straight press fit?
I know the OEM EP3 joints are supposedly factory installed using heat on the knuckle, cold on the ball joint, and epoxy in between.
Will these just press fit and ride?

Thanks for this info. I recently got the car bug again and when under her the other weekend I noticed that everything was shot. So neglected. 😣
Tops and bottoms, L&R all split and drying out... including sway bar endlinks. Assuming inner tie rods need replacing also. Lots of wrench time ahead.
