    parking brake replacement

bought my 02 civic si about a week ago. really enjoying the car. the parking brake lever is a little busted though. its just like a cream color flimsy exposed cap. havent been able to find anything with the search forum

would i have to replace the whole assembly? or sleeve? cause i just need a new brake button

if you could help me find a link or part that would be awesome

    thanks

The cream color is the plastic that was underneath the chrome that flaked off like every other parking brake has done.
Unfortunately, you have to buy the whole assembly if you're going to buy it from scratch new. But what I would suggest would be to just buy an aftermarket replacement, dremel off the old button, figure out what to do with the ebrake boot, and go with that instead. Looks much better and is pretty easy once you figure things out. I have some pics of mine on my build thread.

Sometimes you can find one on ebay. Try some local salvage yards also.
