    SAFC = hondata alternative....hmm

    Has anyone thought about just getting the s-afc instead of hondata seeing how hondata can't get their crap together?

    I mean, sure it wouldnt raise the redline....(like we really need it anyway honda put it there for a reason)

    It actually adds some power to a modded engine as opposed to the hondata on a modded engine. Import Tuner dyno'd 3.5 hp and 3 lb tq gain. Not a whole lot but it sure as hell won't detonate the freakin engine. wtf.

    Plus u have this nice looking piece inside that actually does something.

    the s-afc was tuned along just a k&N filter, and and apexi n1 exhaust.

    with all three parts it put 143.5 hp and 125.4 tq

    i wonder what kind of #'s it would get with the full i/h/e combo. maybe upper 150's maybe? hmmm i might just get one of these after i get my exhaust and dyno it with my injen cai, dc header (re-welded) and whatever catback i get (HKS probably)

    hopefully this will spark some conversation....every since the hondata tragedy the engine forum has been pretty dead.

    yo az02, have u had ur car dynoed?? if so, wut #'s did u put down.. i really wish hondata could work for all our eps. cuz i want it :) but az02 u think maybe u like it cuz of the redline? maybe it does't really give u any more horsies like the other's who have dynoed. maybe u think its faster/stronger only because u like the higher redline. just wondering.

    Rick77f, your car NEEDS an intake. I think it's going half assed tuning a car that doesn't have the full i/h/e treatment.

    well I just got the Hondata reflashed ECU today for my friend.........his car has been sitting here since friday. I put it in for him and didnt call him.....LOL.....I took it to school today for a "test" drive. That thing is f**cking awesome!! I love this thing!!! I can just say that it would stomp the shit out of my stock Si. I returned my friends car after I left school. He didnt care that I took it and drove it before him. It was the least he could do since he left his car at my house. !@#$% you need to come saturday to the meet so I can bring my friend. You might want to even run him if youd like:D He is all stock besides the reflash.

    the safc is a good way to get the proper air fuel ratio for your specific car and mods. . Of course it doesn't affect ignition timing or rpm limiter. It is difficult for any ecu tuner to build a program that gets the air fuel ratios exactly right for every car and different range of mods that exist in the market. The SAFC offers that advantage, it may even be a good mod to accompany the Hondata ecu IMO.
