I don't think I would even try it. Just go for the 2002. Safer that way--no damage.

the 01 kit is bigger that the ep kit. I had to modify the 01 to fit. Not worth it if you can get the EP kit. I couldn't so I'm stuck with a modified 01 kit.

The bracket for the 2k1 civic doesnt even come close to fitting. Thats the original bracket that I was sold when installing my system. I went to another store after I found it was the wrong one and they tried to sell me the same one. Luckily I had my dash sitting in my front seat and actually had to bring it into the shop and show them that it wouldnt fit before they believed me. The books they use to determine what kit goes for what car are vague and the guys at the shop assumed that the si was the same as all other trim levels for the civic. Make sure its the si specific kit.

There is a new Radio Kit for out car so we dont need to replace the whole dash, except it comes in black only for $15. There is a guy on Ebay who bought a whole bunch an painted them the exact same color grey/silver as our dash so we can instal a head unit for $30 shipped if i remember right, and you have the choice of single din with bottom closed, single din with bottom open like it is now, or double din. Just go on ebay and search "02 civic si" and you'll find lots of stuff for our cars, along with the kit.

I don't know what you paid for that kit. But todaCspec has a thread in the classifieds on a cf dash kit. Pretty extensive (lots of pieces).
