    Cam Tower oiling mod

This is the Cam Tower oiling mod from Hytech.

The reason behind the modification is that when highlift cams and stiff valve springs are used excessive wear can be seen on the cam bearing surfaces, this happens at idle and low RPM's. What happens is that the oil pressure at the #5 cam cap is down around 4-7psi, not nearly enough!

This mod redirects oil from the main oil galley and bypasses the VTC and Vtec assemblys(not used at low rpm's) and supplys oil directly to the #5 cam cap.

And here is a look at the mods to the #5 cam saddle showing the new oil feed path.

The rocker shafts are also plugged at the #5 cam cap end to maintain pressure for VTEC.

The #2 cam saddle has the stock oil feed location plugged.

And the oil for this mod is sourced at the oil sender unit. Right hand line is for my oil pressure gauge sending unit.

This pic shows what it looks like all assembled.

so does it continue to bypass VTC and vtec assemblies at high rpms when they are being used, or at those rpms does it not really matter because of the amount of oil or something

It is always bypassing the VTC and VTEC with the mod.

Nope, they still get what oil they need, as neither function at idle and there is more than enough oil volume and pressure as you get above 2000rpm's for everything to operate.
