Check Engine light on for first time

Hi everyone,

My ep3 just turned over 51K and the check engine light went on. First instinct is to check gas cap, and go to parts store for free diagnostic.

Any tips to share regarding the check engine light?

Apologies for the noob question. It ended up just being a little low on oil. I reset the ecu by pulling the fuse and all is back in order and the car is running great.

Just hope it doesn't come back though. You really should have check to see what the check engine light code was.
