Anything looks better than red/yellow on the bumpers. I dig it.
But for the actual install, I would remove the light and wrap it around tightly.
My neighbour bought this vinyl paper with little holes in it (this let's the light go through) to cover is side markers on his Subaru.
He gave me a piece to try out on my car since I hate our front and rear side markers. Now this is just a trial run, and if I do it for real I will make it wrap around better, but here's what it looks like. The vinyl is in silver, let me know if this is too cheesy or it will do until they make clear lenses.
Here's a picture from far away:
This pictures is closer and shows that I didn't wrap the vinyl around properly, again this is just a trial:

that looks pretty good. where do you get some of that stuff?
Actually. I did remover the marker, but I only had so much of the vinyl to play with. The vinyl also doesn't wrap around to well. So if I do it for real, I may put the vinyl on the face of the marker, then paint the lip of the marker silver.
Something like this:
As mentionned. my neighbour got the stuff, he bought it at Canadian Tire (like Pep Boys) up here.Originally posted by xlr8

i think im going to try to get something like that. man do i hate those lights
I hear you xlr8, I hate those lights too (stupid North American laws).
Note they do make the stuff in Black, Silver, White, and Red. Silver makes the lights look better on any colour car, imho. But color coded is also nice.
im going to try to find the white. i want it to look like the lights arent there. im sure the silver would look fine, but you have to color match
Testors transparent black paint should do it.
On my silver GTI it looked great.
I will try it and post the pic.
i have some lens tint spray. it worked well on my stealth, but im not sure if i want to tint my lens. id rather they werent there at all
if you want to do it right use a hair dryer i did alot of the in side of my car with red vinal im me on aol aim for pics
but i took it off cuz it looked a bit too much red
I duno about that one. I think a good paint job will be best in the long run. I have my car in the shop this weekend and one of the things they are doing is sanding and and painting over my reflectors. Can't wait!
how much does that cost to sand over them that is what i want to do
check out my thread in the "LIGHTING" section about COLORING BUMPER REFLECTORS.
I found some cool "Glass Stain" that is better than painting!!

I don't think sanding them is needed (they are plastic). Just get some paint from a mody shop, and paint them yourself.Originally posted by SpeedRacer

The body shop that I brought it to said that some sanding would be necessary so that the paint would adhere properly....and not flake off in the long run. Of course, the long run for me will be shaving and a complete repaint. But that won't be for awhile.Originally posted by SBC31
