    Cool RSX-S 05-06 K20Z1 into 2005 EP3

Anyone out there done a swap like this, I have talked to several Honda techs and they seem to think it will work without any problems. I have access to a complete 2005 RSX-S engine trans with all accys and wiring harness and ecu. I'm talking strictly drop out and drop in operation, I don't want to get into any special mods here. Or, is there a better K series engine and trans that will work on this application and yield better performance.

you are going to have to deal with the speed sensor issue....It has been covered over on k20.org.

i'm not sure if i'm understanding you, but there is no "RSX-R"...

there's a JDM Honda Integra Type-R and we here in the states get a rebadged watered down version of it called the Acura RSX Type-S.

JDM Integra Type-R engine code: K20A

    USDM 02-04 RSX-S engine code: K20A2
    USDM 05-Present RSX-S engine code: K20Z1

someone correct me if i'm wrong.

like others say, the only problem you'll run into is the lack of a speed sensor. you can add the sensor and the speed ring but it's easier said then done.

my friend has both parts acutally. we were going to toss a 6 speed onto his ep but the ep was wrecked before we were able to complete the project.

if using thise method, you'll also need an 02-04 rsx-s harness or you could re-use your ep3 harness if you don't mind not having the reverse lockout.

I run a z1, but didn't have to switch throttle bodies? I wonder what the purpose in the switch is? Do I need to swap them? Car runs good and sgi-5 solved all trans issues. If anyone knows about the throttle body issue please let me know.

the z1 throttle body is the same as the a2.

you're probably thinking about the newer k motors like the k24a2 and the k20z3 which use the dbw hence making their throttle bodies useless.

I had thought there was some kind of an issue with the 04'-06' wire harnesses and earlier chassis.
