never ceases to amaze me about this car....keep up the good work!!! you oughta come down here @ jersey whenever we have a meet...would love to see your car up close and personal....regards
did you pick up the motor this past weekend?
yeah we did.. omg that thing is mint.. and for the price... yeesh... yeah this car is gonna be something else in a few months... you guys would have to hang out with the kid for one day.. he's the most neatest person i ever met.. he was changing the springrates on the Feels... which lead to him pulling the coilover down to the very last nut, checking for excess play, then cleaning every part before reassembly... dude's nuts, but in a great way...
Pics will be up tomorrow of the motor I forgot to bring my camera to work today :(
loving the ride as always, this will be a nice track car once you are done with the motor and brakes
Update fellas!
So I picked up a new motor this past weekend. Its a 2002 K20A2 with 91k miles. As you can see its mint as hell :)
It came out of a totaled Type S, but since all the damage was on the side of the car I was able to take it for a test drive. The motor felt smooth and strong so I ended up getting the full swap at a STEAL - Engine, trans, engine harness, ecu with Hondata reflash, immobilizer and remotes.
.
.
I also prepped and sprayed the rear bumper support with por15 since it had some surface rust starting ...
.
.
Threw on another FEEL's sticker also
let the swap begin!!!! nice pick-up!!!!
finally getting the swap done. can't wait too see how you prep everything for install. when do you plan on dropping the motor in?
this car has so much of it's own swag, damn man i love all your updates keep it up dudde! i wish iw asnt a college student so i can be doing these types of projects fml lol
Thanks guys! Im going to start refreshing the motor soon, but it wont be ready to go in till probably next summer. There are alot of things I want for it before it goes in and I wont put it in until it's just right
Thanks man, I have to wash her and take some pictures of the new stance. It looks so much better now with the front a little lower, the rear a touch higher and theres a bit more front camber. Just looks 100% proper now :)
Dont sweat college man its tough while youre there but its more important than any car stuff you could be doing!
Grats on the pickup! Give that engine a real good once over, and take your time with it. Its easiest to do it right, and do it right now while its out of the car. If i ever buy another second hand engine... it will get torn down to the crank. I stopped at the crank on my k24a1, but did everything else the first rebuild. This time its everything.
