    Almost Fast's New Build

Well after heavily debating back and forth on to part out or not I decided to keep the Ep. So the new build has begun. Old setup was my K24A4 with TSX rods, ARP head studs, and Z3 Oil pump, RBC W/ Hondata IMG. Running Cybernation turbo kit W/ new Garrett 60-1 turbo, 750cc injectors, Hondata 4 bar map sensor, and Walboro 255lp pump. Made roughly 300-315 who @ 13 psi

    Now:
Swapped out A4 pistons with brand new A1 Pistons and added a low miles Z3 Head. I feel so accomplished because I did all the work myself for most part (dobbs02si supervised)

Also swapped to carbon lined synchros and went with a 4.3 FD.

    Now for the Pics:

Old Pistons, Minus carbon build-up everything looked great

    Bare-ish block:

TSX rods with my old A4 Pistons, not much signs of wear (these are some beefy rods)

New A1 Pistons and rings on, ready to go in

    Now for the reassembly

Guess I didn't take any pics with Cams and all back on. As she sits now, just waiting to finish up trans to go back in.

Thinking about paint engine and trans black though.

    Pics of trans all apart:

    Stay tuned

Subscribed! Paint the engine and trans the same greyish color, not black. :)

I KNEW IT! I knew you wouldn't give up the ol' EP!!

Thanks for staying in the game brother! Keep her alive.

I've seen those TSX rods snap at 576WHP, I'm sure they will be MORE than enough if you don't plan on going to those power levels!

Usaf, thanks. I realy really did not want a car payment, so here we are. The magic number I am hunting is 400 hp. I really dont want higher than that (give or take).

Honing the block is not always required... even if installing new rings.

AUTiger, No I did not Hone the block. Bought motor with 25k miles and put roughly 15k on it. Will keep everyone updated as the build progresses.
