The deal on warrnties is this (methinks it's time for a Warranty FAQ
thread):
Any part that you put on your car that comes from the aftermarket
world will not 'void' any warranty. The dealer cannot 'void' your
warranty for a header, or an intake, or whatever. They can decline
to honor your warranty, if they can prove the aftermarket part you added caused the problem you are having. For example, you lower
the car on springs and it blows the stock shocks - they could decline
(or they could honor, depends on the dealer) to replace your shocks
under warranty. They could not, however, not warranty your power windows,
if they stopped working for some reason, because you have H&R springs.
This is a federal law called the Magnusson-Moss (sp?) Act. If you
search google, you should find a TON of info on it.
Now, as for the headers:
First, do a search. You'll find past dyno results, first impressions, etc, of everything from DC Sports headers to rumors about Jackson Racings
upcoming piece.
Typically, it seems as if the headers for this car either don't make
much of a difference (without the corresponding intake/exhaust added)
or they decrease low end, but give you top end gains/hp.
Install shouldn't be too bad - I would say an hour, maybe two, worth
of work. You could probably do it yourself fairly easily. Someone
in your local area (that's on ephatch) could probably give you hand
for some beer/food.
