hondata and miles on cluster

If you were to switch ECU's with someone that had a hondata'd ECU and had less miles than than the traded ECU. Will the miles transfer to the other car or is it stored in the cluster?

The mileage is stored in the cluster.

yep, it can be abated if you document the original mileage and keep up with the new mileage on the new cluster. also, you are "supposed" to go to the DMV and fill out a form stating that the miles on the car are not "actual" miles, but no one ever does that. like they say, "buyer beware".

When i worked at a Honda dealer, i saw one of the techs put a new guage cluster in a accord. It had 25500 miles on the car. With the new cluster it had 0 miles.

I think they put a sticker on the door jam too. Yeah my buddy had the cluster replaced on his acura 1.6 and it read 0km.

depends if u get caught or not. Like on my old saturn(when i traded it in) the miles stated 98,XXX. It stopped in 2000..and i traded it in 03:D Do u think they knew;)
