will it affect my speedometer
Yes it will affect your speedometer. A 205/40/17 will affect it the least, as it is the closest overall height to stock.
We have used on 17inche rims 215/45/17.
Also with Tein coil Over. Slammed !!!
We will post pictures later.
THATS RIGHT BABY!!! TEINS SLAMMED ON TOP OF 215/45ZR17'S:D
not to insult your intelligence but coil over is actually one word (coilover). i keep seeing you type it that way so i just wanted to correct you. oh and post pics of the 02 si.Originally posted by Fizz Autosports

I got 215/45/17s
Also, I have run by one of those radar gun display things and it read the same thing as my speedo.
Has anyone run 225's on 17's? Just curious, as that is what I'm planning to run unless someone knows otherwise. GRM is running 225's on their 15" Volks.
I was also considering 225's on 17's. Should be no problem with a 37 or 38 mm offset. Closest size tire match would be 225/40/17 (Just .10 shorter than stock). One thing I have noticed in my search, though, is that your tire choice will be limited in that size.Originally posted by LeperCon

A 225/45/17 is a more popular size, but would be .80 bigger than stock.

In regards to the question of speedo accuracy -
I have the understanding that the 215/45-17 is the closest wheel diameter to stock 15's+Michelins in the 17" category.
The next best would be the 215/40-17 which is a -1.82% difference compared to the 205's -3.12% difference.
The 215/45-17 is 1.67% difference.
DynaSpeed is right about the 215/45/17 being about 1.7% larger than Stock, but a 205/45/17 is as close to perfect as you can get at 0.2% larger than Stock.
Here are some more wheel/tire options
205/55/15 at 1.4% smaller
225/50/15 at 1.5% smaller
205/50/16 at 0.6% smaller
225/45/16 at 1.0% smaller
that's waaaay wrong...Originally posted by SarahVTEC
I have 205/40 17" series tires.
hope you have a SERIOUS drop and don't care about speedo error...
I was trying to order a tire from tire rack and they wouldn't sell me a 205/40/17 for use on my car cause he said it would be overloaded. He recomended a 205/45/17. My rim is cracked so doesnt anybody want 2 brand new Kumho Estca 712, and 3 used ones in 205/40/17 size? And if anyone has the Motegi Mr7's in gunmetal and need spare rims let me know..
