it has to do with getting the gear ratio and flywheel as close to a 1:1 ratio. the closer to 1:1, the more accurate the reading.
What is it that determines which gear you would dyno on. I know people say that fourth is the better gear to dyno on, but when I race I am hardly ever in fourth. So what does it matter what hp and tq I pull in fourth when I dont use it when I race. What are your thoughts?

3rd is the closest to 1:1, however the fly has no bearing.;)
I use to do all my pulls in 3rd, however they will now have to be in 4th.:D
according to honda's Web site:
3rd: 1.212
4th: 0.921
4th is close to 1:1 ... but thanks for playing. (i keed, i keed)
:D
why cant they dyno in all gears from first to fifth or six for those with a 6speed tranny
Would the correction for 3rd gear be 1.112, and 4th be .079??
