i think that added about 15whp....good mod...$10 bucks total :p
is that paint heat resistant? I want to do the same color--I want a silver and blue theme.
I have a Tamiya Skyline GT-R R34 model . . . that was one of my color choices. :)
that looks tight seems like that things packing heat heheh
it was easy to do...the paint drys fast
I copied your manifold cover! :P I left the right-hand part black though, like the JDM silver cover. (that was not too fun to mask off in that groove.) I'm going for a silver and blue theme.
did you put a (Tamiya) clear coat on it? I may consider that.
Tip: I got some blue spray under my masking tape, onto the silver i-VTEC decal. My girlfriend has a nailpolish remover pen/marker thingy that took off all the paint on that. Worked great. Maybe some regular liquid nail polish remover on a Q-Tip would do the same. Or, maybe I just needed to push down the tape harder. ;)
cool! good job...post some pics... anyway, what i did to cover the vtec decal on the cover was put masking tape over it...and just use an xacto knife and cut around...mine is clean as a whistle.Originally posted by Ocelot

I'm really interested to know how the paint holds up under the heat...
I have an extra "intake manifold cover" that I got so I could paint it but I don't want the paint to melt off or somthing that will look shitty after awhile... Have any of you guys had problems?...
i painted mine with no prep...i washed it off with a little soap...let it dry...masked what i needed to...spray. I sprayed many many light coats to let it dry and to ensure that it would not bleed. the surface that the plastics are made of are great for painting as they already have a nice painting surface. I live in so cali and it's been 90
I'd post pics if I had a digi cam. :( I need to get one soon.
I first srayed mine with a couple coats of Tamiya grey primer that I have for my models.
no digicam? man...get with the times!Originally posted by Ocelot
