not sure if the regular kappa components are the same as the kappa perfects as far as crossover adjustment but I used the -6db jumper and mine sound just fine with a little tweaking from the eq in my head unit.

Investigate the crossover. Some of it is due to the fact that if you used the stock tweeter location it's MUCH closer to your noggin than infinity thought you would put it. If you have the ability to attenuate the tweet at the crossover do it. The inverse square law can be a bitch sometimes I still think they are harsh though
Made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.
6-1/2 drop in front doors with no problems?
I will soon have this "system" lol. BUT FIRST, I'm not sure where to run my power wire through the firewall? Could anyone post a pic? Thanks.
how thick is your power wire? do you have foglights? what year is your car? most people route the wire through the hole that is normally for foglights. its under the steeringwheel on the righthand side, my 04 didnt even need the hold for the fogs so it worked out perfectly, needed to take out the mud guard thing to get the wire to run towards the engine bay too.
This is my old system me my dad and brother inlaw built last year for my old saturn sl1
Kenwood HU
Polk Audio 6 1/2's with tweeters in the front doors
and some 6x9's for the deck speakers
My system was a Alpine trpe R 15
Kicker 750 Amp
homemade ported box
decent looking work,sound pretty good?
Redoing my system again. It's still under construction.[IMG][/IMG]
Kind of a threadjack, but no responses in the dumb questions sticky, sooo here I am LOL.
First audio build, running a Pioneer HU with high/low pass filters, and a rear speaker sub option. Was hoping to utilize the rear speaker positions to add a little low end. Just one sticky detail: how much depth/clearance do I have to work with in those rear speaker mounts? I was hoping to squeeze a pair of free air 8"s in there. I don't mind a little cutting/grinding to deal with mounting width, but depth is what it is...so what is it?
wowo some of the system is crazy.
kenwood exelon hu> kicker crossover> jl xd200 on a pair of jbl 6.5" power series separates runing passive > and a ed ninex2 to a kicker l7 8" ported box in the trunk, looking in to a diffrent sub this one feels like its missing something, and some jbl gto6.5 coax in the rear pannels on the head unit, 20ft of alpha damp to be installed soon, very very much still playing with it to get the settings where i want them,
