    I wanna know what kinda numbers this thing is going to pull. I'm still throwing back if I want turbo or supercharge on my k24. Once I find out what you are pullin that should make it easier and then I can have the block sent to ERL

    Well all is not good on the home front. Power numbers were 265 whp and 214 torque. But there are some problems. It may have kissed a valve on the dyno, got to get a leakdown test done and depending on what that shows the head may have to come back off.

    Thanks guys. Already have some leads to chase down, and am looking for more.

    I really didn't expect a huge HP increase with this build, but I sure as hell didn't expect to loose power. We'll see what happens.

    Just got off the phone with my mechanic. He did a compression test and a leakdown test and it doesn't look good.

    Compression test was

    1. 125
    2. 155
    3. 155
    4. 155

    Leakdown was

    1. 50%
    2. 25%
    3. 25%
    4. 25%

    Something got in the motor. Not sure what, not sure where it came from, but there is scoring to the walls on cylinder 1. The head looks okay though.

    Has anyone seen my watch?......OH, there it is........

    Can you just pull the one pistion and rehone the cyclinder with the motor in the car?

    Thats what I'm hoping for. If its just that and new rings on the piston then I'm good. If its much more than that I don't know what I'm going to do.

    No I don't.

    Our best guess right now is that the motor injested a small piece of metal and it got into cylinder 1. The only thing we can think of is that the spark plug electrode that did my last motor in got spit out into the supercharger and got hung up in there somewhere. That is pure guesswork though.

    Just got back from checking the car out. Its definitely not going to be an easy fix.

    One of the new pistons is fucked. Piston to wall contact. It actually welded one side of the piston all together so you can hardly tell that there is supposed to be multiple rings at that spot. That same bore is going to have to be bored out which of course means that all four will have to be bored out and that of course means four new pistons. There was definitely piston to valve contact on cylinder 1 so that means 4 new valves for that cylinder, and maybe more.

    The head does appear to be undamaged, so that at least is good news. I don't know why there was valve to piston contact on only one cylinder though. That makes me concerned that we had valve float. I've had the Eibach valve springs in for a while so I think I'm going to replace those as well.
