Sorry to hear of the engine issues, hopefully the scoring isnt real bad and it can be honed out.
man this stinks, sorry to hear man, but to be Mr. Positive, this could have been much worse so just keep your head up (no pun intended) and Lauren will be back on the road again before you know it and stronger than ever!!! (man that was a lot of comma's for one sentence)

Well here are some pics of the carnage
We'll start with the blower. Not quite sure what caused this, but you can see the nicks and such. It will be sent off to be rebuilt as well.
Here's the cylinder wall. Its cylinder #1.
And here's the pistons skirt.
This doesn't show it very well, but in person you can clearly see where the valve hit the piston face.
Sorry Mike. This must be so disturbing. I bet you wanna slap a bitch
You know it. When I first got the e-mail from the tuner saying he was afraid of damage I felt like I had been punched in the gut. When I actually saw all this last night it was worse.
After all the fucking money I put into this thing to have this happen. And its worse because I have nobody but me to blame.
o jesus mike... this sucks... i feel your pain... it sucks when you get punched in the gut.
Now is this the same head that was on your TSX motor that blew? I mean maybe something on the head is damaged that is dropping the electrode into the piston..?

Wow Mike. Sorry to hear about the bum news. I feel for you.
Mel
Sorry to see the pics.....What are you going to do?
I'm trying to hunt down some 89mm pistons now. The motor is already back out of the car and if its not at the machine shop now it will be as soon as I can get it to them to be bored out again. The head is going to the machine shop also to have all the valves checked, the valve seats checked etc. Go back in with new pistons.
The head itself wasn't damaged, the rods and bearings are still good too. So its not like I'm having to start over from scratch. Its still going to cost a pretty penny. Thank god I'm paying cash for this stuff and not doing it on credit cards or shit like that.:boom:
amn dude that sucks
at least you can go bigger on the piston
how fucked is the head?
just recently had some issues with the builder installing the head studs improperly on my car (uneven thread protusion on the head nuts)
head studs were uneven when the head was installed and caused the studs to come untq'd and lift the head enough to alow ater to come into #1 cyl
i caught it early enough and everything is good and found the stupid small cause
just waiting on a 87mm .040mls headgasket wont be here till mid june
i once had a 592whp ep on pump gas, i sold it and bought a Z
(heed my advice i know what im doing)
how did the cylinder wall and piston get that bad, that quick? that looks like an old engine, not a newly broken in engine.
I'll be damned if I know for sure. What I'm being told is that it was running lean due to the bent valve never closing completely and that the damage is from the heat of running lean.
