nope, do not need a new one unless it is torn or damaged.
DO NOT put any kind of sealant on it. it will seal itself.
I have a quick question. I recently bought a painted valve cover. I want to know if I keep the same valve cover gasket or buy a new one. I have 40,000 miles on my car. Also when I put in the valve cover do i put some kind of silicone to seal it up. thanks.

You will need to apply some UltraFlangeII at 4 locations.
At both locations where the front timing chain cover and the head meet, and at the #5 cam cap(drivers side end of the head) and where it meets the head.
