the k20a2 drops right in an ep3. all you have to do is mod the shifter so you can get in reverse. you only have to mod the shifter if you use the k20a2 6 speed. you will also need an k20a2 ecu or kpro

ill probably be needing it later on since i have decided im going to boost it
does it matter if i need a long block or a short block k20a2 to swap it into a ep3?

I'm not to sure how much you know about K20a2 and K20a3 but the is a difference in the PS system. You'll be needing to remove this system off the K20a2 and replacing with parts off your K20a3.

I'd also change the motor mounts to aftermarket ones or to ES insert, depending as to what you have as a budget. Its also a smart time to do a clutch and fly upgrade. I know $$$ adds up quick, but spending now will save you in labour later.

ya i have no idea what the ps system is
but i was going to upgrade to the ACT extreme clutch and prolite flywheel
would i be able to use that clutch and flywheel on street even tho it says not to
on my a3 the clutch wore out so instead of spending 1100 on a new stock clutch im now going with the a2 swap since this is my chance now
i would be able to switch out the type-s flywheel nd clutch on the a3 and sell that engine

Not to mention you still a have to drive down to Honda and have them recode your key to the ECU. I think it would be better to turbo the K20A3 at 8psi and you would have 105hp per liter instead of 100hp per liter and still be saving money compared to all the money the swap will add up to.

    The K20A2 drops rignt in.
You will need to get the immobilizor resynched.
The shifter "may" need to be trimmed to allow the shifter to get into reverse gear.
    Use your A3 axles.
The clutch would be for a K20A2, so get some ideas from others what works well, I like the CM FX300.

would they still have to recode my key to the ecu if i go with k-pro?
and i dont want to stay with my a3 since i want to go with a 6 spd tranny
it would be cheaper to get a swap than going through the hassle of getting a tranny swap

if you go with k-pro, technically you dont have to recode the ecu, but with the immobilizer disabled you'll have that annoying key symbol flashing the entire time.

and technically you can go with a six speed transmission with your a3--you can place a tsx 6th into your five speed. you wont have the reverse lockout solenoid that the 6 speeds have, but i am sure you can order those anyway :thumb:

So you have to switch from Electronic Power Steering to Hydraulic?

no you just need to remove the PS pump and replace it with the EP3 tensioner and idle pully set up

You can just K-Pro your A3 ECU and no need to go to the dealer to have the immobilizer and key resynch'ed. You dont need the reverse lock out anyway unless you dont know how to drive a manual. The reverse is just way too far to be mistaken as 6th gear.
