    removing tint(spray) tail lights.

    im trying to get make my tail lights look stock. my friend suggested using rubbing alcohol to remove the tint paint, and someone suggested paint thinner (but im afraid it might ruin the plastic) anybody have suggestions??

    I used paint thinner on mine. Dont let it soak, just pour some on and wipe it off with a rag, it takes the spray tint off without damaging the tail light.

    i would advise against paint thinner
    it causes most plastics to shrink, and im sure if you did it quick enough you'd be fine, but why risk that?
    I would go to some sort of art store and buy turpenoid or turpentine, turpenoid would probaby be the safer option, if that fails theres always wet sanding or buffing with a medium cut polish.

    how about rubbing alcohol? i got one person saying it's legit, is it risky for the plastic?

    Agreed. Wet sand and buff ftw. Not only will you get the black off but your lights will look shinny and new

    yes, thats what I would do, although not everyone trusts sandpaper. I know the first time i wetsanded something I said to my friend "now you're sure this isnt just gonna fuck my shit up?" sure enough it was fine, but its still intimidating.
    rubbing alcohol may work, turpentine would work better though and be safe.
