im trying to get make my tail lights look stock. my friend suggested using rubbing alcohol to remove the tint paint, and someone suggested paint thinner (but im afraid it might ruin the plastic) anybody have suggestions??

jus buy new lights its never the same
i would advise against paint thinner
it causes most plastics to shrink, and im sure if you did it quick enough you'd be fine, but why risk that?
I would go to some sort of art store and buy turpenoid or turpentine, turpenoid would probaby be the safer option, if that fails theres always wet sanding or buffing with a medium cut polish.
what about amonia?

yes, thats what I would do, although not everyone trusts sandpaper. I know the first time i wetsanded something I said to my friend "now you're sure this isnt just gonna fuck my shit up?" sure enough it was fine, but its still intimidating.Agreed.
