02-03 struts interchangeability with 04 struts

Can someone confirm the following:

are OEM shocks for a 2004 model SI interchangeable with a 2002-2003 model year ?
I'm aware of the differentes in terms of strut housing dimensions (55 vs 50 mm) when doing Koni inserts, but say that if I want to help a fellow ephatcher by giving him my oem shocks from my 04, will they bolt onto his 2003 ?

Part numbers are different, but appart from housing size, I can't see why they would not bolt up.

Has anyone ever done this ?
