Request for hood dampers

My hood stand just decided to fall out the other day and I would rather use hood dampers but tein doesn't make a set for the EP3 and I know you can mod some others to fit. Going off the post on clubep3 I found the Sachs dampers that have all the needed hardware but I'm not sure how to hook it up. Some people have made steel plates and various other mounts but if possible I would like to do it without that just because I really don't have access to something like that. Anybody done this before? Thanks for the help

There was a detailed DIY before but i guess the crash got it? I still have pix and part numbers of what i did... but i will have to look them up to post em again.

As far as a bracket goes... you only need one for the hood, and if need be just be made out of some simple flat bar aluminum and bent with a bench vise. I made mine out of molded CFR plastic. The two ballstud mounts that come with the strut are used... and one is secured to the rad support behind the passenger headlight (you drill that hole).

this is the old p/n, if someone can tell me what size screw fits in there i can pull one out of reference. for now this is what i could find:
6058k61 cheapest m5 sized ball stud (Steel)
6058k62 cheapest m6 sized ball stud (Steel)

6058k66 is the Stainless Steel m5 ball stud
6058k67 is the SS m6 ball stud

dont think you need the stud though, according to diesel...
