    Exclamation ITB's on k20a3

Hey guys, I just bought an ep3 yesterday. Sold my boosted ek, and wanted to start over again...
I'm thinking of getting itb's. Would i need a re-tune cuz of increased air flow or what? I've never went with them before, so i just wanted to know what goes on with them, what can i expect to gain, and if i'd need a re-tune.
    Thanks in advance.

This is what twm or clockwise motion told me, don't waste your money on the a3. But if you did want to go with itbs; for me my setup would consist of the kinsler itbs (which might not fit(not enough space)) and a set of IPS cams. Don't waste your money on twm, they don't produce good power compare to kinsler, but if you do get the decent deal on k20a.org for about $1000, go for it, but not on the a3.

Put a K20A2 swap in first.

You're gonna be even lower on funds if you try and make any serious power with that a3.

Just a very short piece of advice, the costs and time involved in a head swap are about the same as a complete A2 swap.

Hell a brand new in the box K20Z3 short block is only 1700$ from Honda! Dont waste money on trying to get whp out of the A3 shortblock without boost. The gains of ITB's over a RBC on a A2 are not all that great and only when large stage2 cams or better are run and anything but WOT with ITB's are a great compromise in drivability. ITB's and a DD do not mix very well.

everyone is saying dont do anything to the a3 unless its a turbo. best choice is to swap with something such as a k24a1 if your low on funds.

That is not really what I posted, I stated that was on a A2. On the A3 BOTH are a serious downgrade for a DD and the ITB's are surely the low man on reliability and drivability. Sure they make more top end whp #'s, but seriously underperform at anything below that point.

Making NA horsepower is by far the most costly route to go, each step costs big $ for ever decreasing WHP gains the higher you go, and your core shortblock must be up to the task or you are simply wasting money.
